MEET THE COACHES

Coach Perez is the owner and director of the Fort Worth Elite Basketball Club. He founded the club in 2021. He has been coaching basketball for 19 years, 15 of those years have been as a varsity head coach where he has 330 career wins. In addition to that Coach Perez was the associate head coach at Schreiner University for 4 years where he was the main assistant coach, recruiting director, and director of player development. Prior to coaching, he attended Texas Lutheran University from 2001-2005 and was a member of the Men's Basketball Team all four seasons. Coach Perez currently serves as the head varsity boys basketball coach at The Covenant School of Dallas.

Coach Sheridan has been coaching for 10 years. Coach Sheridan played Division III basketball at Hendrix College. After graduating he went on to play Semi Professional basketball in the DFW/Fort Worth area. He also played professionally in China in the CBL for the EYG Academy. In addition he also played professionally in Jamaica for the Havoc. Upon returning from overseas he continued to play Semi-professional basketball for the Texas Nighthawks which he received multiple offers to play overseas but chose to stay in Texas to coach basketball at Trinity Christian Academy. Coach Sheridan is currently the head JV and assistant Varsity coach at Trinity Christian Academy - Willow Park.

Coach Dean was a 3 and a half year Varsity player at Southwest High School - Fort Worth, TX where during his senior year, He would lead his team to the playoffs and earn 1st Team All District honors. He would then finish his playing career at The University of Texas - Permian Basin. He started his basketball coaching journey in 2018 with the FT Warriors. After spending time in higher education as Intramural Sports Coordinator - Tarrant County College, he worked with i9 Sports as a Program Director building sport leagues and camps, as well as coaching and providing individual skills training for kids ages 3-13. Most recently, he assisted with Fort Worth Elite’s 6th grade girls team last season. Coach Dean has since been promoted to a head coach with the Fort Worth Elite.

Director of Player Development

Coach Mathis is the Founder/Owner of GTG Basketball. He has trained and coached over 50 players in the DFW area since 2019. He has worked with players from elementary to professionals, helping them achieve their basketball goals. He played four years of varsity basketball as a starter, winning multiple district championships, and playoff games in the 5A division. He played four years of NCAA DIII basketball at the University of Dallas. Career highlights were helping his team advance to a conference tournament championship game, winning SCAC conference all team awards, and becoming a DIII All-American honorable mention.
